About Me

One reading I find influental is:
by Edward Everett Hale,

"I am only one"

I am only one,
but still I am one,
I cannot do everything,
but still I can do something.
And because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.

For me it makes me feel grateful for what I have and makes me want to get up and get started,
a real call to action.

About Peace

Every day in this era of Trump an fanaticism,
I wake up in the morning with a lot of anxiety,
turn on my computer to find out what happened while I was sleeping.

The Cycle of terrorism, shock, grief, call for action, return to normal, and then it would start all over again.
As a mother and a human I say, "It's Enough Already!"

About My Mission

To give hope to a weary world... We need each other and we need peace.

How many people have to die?

It's Enough Already!
Smile for Peace, unites smiles from people of different faiths, creeds and beliefs into one vast Smile Cloud Work, without hate, without jealousy, without prejudice, just side by side, peaceful together, one smile at a time.

About Maude-n-art, aka: Susan maude Buchser-Lochocki

To talk about Maude I should tell you her Mother was an oil Painter and her father a photographer. The influence becomes apparent in her new works.

She completed her first Oil Painting at 7 years old. Then during her Elementary and Jr High School studies she focused more on clay works. Later in High School her interests changed to drawing and painting animals, while still studying clay. Graduating Pittsford Sutherland HS 1984, with advanced placement credits, she went off to NYC to continue her studies in art, at Parsons School of Design in NYC, receiving her BFA in Illustration, in 1988.

Trained by Master Illustrators such as; David J. Pasalaqua, Dick Rockwell, Bill Klutz, Katharina Denzinger to name a few, maude was then a Freelance Illustrator. With crippling debt from her studies, it was difficult to make ends meet, so she had to take odd jobs to pay the rent. One job/place was (eventually at all the Uno's) Pizzeria Uno's, in Manhattan. Still, Uno's had no affordable health so, she went back to school (more debt) to learn word processing and typing, then utilizing her math skills, she found herself with a career in banking, and for the first time affordable healthcare. During this struggling time, she worked on developing her style and continued her studies at the Art Students League.

Then came love, a move to Europe, marriage, and a baby, with a mama pause. Still trying to define her artist voice she dabbled in various mediums, but then everything stopped when her daugher Jessica, was diagnosed with Childhood Leukemia, at the age of 3. Jessica survived her cancer and treatment, only to have it return a little more than a year later.

Today, we are happy to say, the child is alive and well and is currently studying to become a nurse, herself, and she loves it. After the final cancer treatment, and some time passed, only then did maude felt safe to turn her attentions away from her daughter and back to art... NOW it is her time!
